Saint Patrick's Day celebration

On March 17th, we celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day here at MAR. It is a day to celebrate Irish Nationality. This day we are reminded of Irish symbols and myths: the shamrock, the leprechaun, and the myth of the Blarney Stone. In Ireland, there are parades, traditional Irish food and traditional Irish music and dance. St. Patty’s day is also very popular in the US, because 34 million people claim to have Irish descent. In the US, people also celebrate all things Irish, and everyone wears green. If you don’t wear green to school, you get a pinch!

El día de San Patricio se celebra cada 17 de marzo en irlanda, y este año también en nuestro colegio! En irlanda, se celebran la nacionalidad irlandés. Este día pensamos en símbolos y mitos de irlanda: el duende que esconde el oro al fin del arco iris, la piedra de Blarney, y el trébol. La gente se viste en verde (el color national de irlanda), come comida tradicional de irlanda, y también escucha la musica tradicional. En los estados unidos, también es un día importante. Un 34 millones pretende descendencia irlandésa. Recuerden: si no llevan verde a colegio, recibirán una pizca!
